About

Flo Dessau – Dramaturg

I am a Dramaturg, Director and Creative Facilitator. I work across stage, screen and audio to support the creation and development of urgent and unique stories. I am passionate about supporting writers and artists through the making of new work.

I am an experienced Script Reader (Bush Theatre, Royal Court, BFI, Actors Touring Company) where I provide script reports to literary, development teams and talent executives. I also offer 1 to 1 script reading dramaturgical service directly to writers. I have supported first-time writers at various stages from seed idea through to production. I also facilitate workshops with writers to explore their practice in a low pressure group setting, creating supportive and inspiring environments to explore form and content. I have delivered dramaturgy masterclasses for Young Vic, Rose Bruford College and supported the Royal Court Theatre’s iconic Introduction to Playwriting Group.

I also work as a Dramaturg attached to long-term projects working towards production. On attachment I will work with you for the whole of the development process supporting when you get stuck, offering questions and notes which support the intention of your work and facilitating ways to produce your work with the whole creative team.

You can find out more details of my work in each specific field by selecting the Stage Screen or Audio pages. You can get in touch with me to discuss potential project and to enquire about fees through the Contact form page.
